Editorial/Advisory Board Selection Policy
- JSHMDC will follow the recommendations of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) in the selection of members of the editorial and advisory board of the journal.
- Editorial and advisory board members are appointed for a term of three years, with extensions granted based on satisfactory performance.
- The editorial board is headed by the Chief Editor, who holds a doctorate degree or FCPS and a certification in medical editing, has a strong record of research publications in national and international journals — including those with an impact factor — and has prior editorship experience.
- Highly qualified editorial members from various disciplines and capabilities have been selected by the editor-in-chief.
- Editorial members have a strong research background.
- 50% of the editorial/advisory board members are national, and 50% are international.
- Editors may not serve as authors on any article, except for editorials they contribute as part of their editorial role. In line with DOAJ requirements, the proportion of published articles in which at least one author is an editor, editorial board member, or reviewer of the journal will not exceed 25% of the total articles in either of the latest two issues.
- To ensure the smooth functioning of the journal, the Editors are responsible for attending the Editorial Board meetings regularly.
