About the Journal

Journal of Shalamar Medical & Dental College (JSHMDC) is the official journal of the Shalamar Medical and Dental College Lahore, Pakistan, and is published bi-annually by Shalamar Medical and Dental College, Lahore, Pakistan. 

JSHMDC is an OPEN ACCESS, peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary medical journal that publishes scientific research related to Medical and Allied Health Sciences.

It is recognized by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC), the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, and the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP). It is registered with the International Serial Data System of France  (ISSN print: 2789-3669: ISSN online 2789-3677.  

JSHMDC is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Index Medicus East Mediterranean Region (IMEMR), Google Scholar, Pakmedinet, Tehqeeqat, and the Asian Research Index.

JSHMDC follows the ICMJE Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals.

It is published by the Shalamar Medical and Dental College, Shalimar Link Road, Mughalpura, Lahore, Pakistan.

AIMS AND SCOPES:

JSHMDC aims to promote research in medical and allied health sciences.  It is devoted to publishing recent advances in research, with particular emphasis on clarity of presentation and precision of data.

It covers various medical fields, including basic medical sciences, clinical sciences, dentistry, allied health sciences, nursing, medical education, psychology, public health, and biomedical sciences. 

It publishes original research articles, case reports, case series, epidemiological studies, commentaries, letters to the editor, and review articles. Editorials are also invited for publication on emerging health issues.

The Journal also publishes undergraduate medical Students' research. 

All articles submitted for publication are prepared as per “Uniform requirements for submission to biomedical journals” by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). JSHMDC strongly advocates ethical medical journalism by upholding the highest standards of research and publication ethics. All research articles are subjected to a peer review process. Any misconduct noticed during or after publication will be dealt with according to the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. 

It is recognized by Pakistan's Higher Education Commission (HEC) and registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP).

It is Indexed / Registered/ Included in DOAJ, Google Scholar, PakMediNet, Tehqeeqaat, Asian Research Index, and International Serial Data System.

OBJECTIVES:

• To disseminate research: Publish and share scientific research in various biomedical fields.
• To promote ethical Journalism: Uphold the highest standards of research and publication ethics, following ICMJE guidelines and COPE principles.
• To encourage student research: Encourage and showcase research conducted by undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.

FREQUENCY OF PUBLICATION:
JSHMDC is published biannually.

ARTICLE SUBMISSION, PROCESSING, AND PUBLICATION CHARGES:
There are no article submission, processing, and publication charges.
